Everything is really here! In Korean language, Daiso (다이소) is composed of the words da (다), meaning “everything”, and isseo (있어), sounding like -iso (이소), which means “there is”. Hence, the word “Daiso”, in Korean language, literally means “there is everything”. It became a store name that was known all over the world.

You might wonder… Is Daiso a Korean store or a Japanese store?

Don’t get confused, Daiso Korea is now a separate entity from Daiso Japan. Korean goods, instead of Japanese imports, are being sold here. When we checked the global website of Daiso, Korea is not listed in their store locations. Korea even made their own logo and branding of Daiso. There’s not a lot of people who knows these facts though.

So, which store is the original Daiso–Japan or Korea? The thing is, Japan had it first. Nevertheless, Daiso Korea provides the same variety, one-dollar type store as Daiso Japan, while carrying the store name with much more meaning.
